This road is known by a few different names, depending on who you talk to. The Wyoming Department of Transportation calls it Highway 390. You will also hear it referred to as Moose Wilson Road, because of the two small towns on its northern and southern ends: Moose and Wilson. Many locals call this Teton Village Road. That's because, as you will see, the road takes you to Teton Village, the small town at the base of the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, where you can find some of the best skiing terrain in the country — and, arguably, the world.
On this route, you'll be driving beside the mighty Snake River, through major wildlife habitat, and, in the summer, into Grand Teton National Park. Each winter, the road closes at the entrance to Grand Teton National Park. You'll have to go around, through the town of Jackson, to get to the park in the winter.
Due to road closures in the park on Moose Wilson Road, the tour is only available from Wilson to Teton Village at this time. On this tour, you will hear lots of local voices. Thank you to everyone who participated in this audio guide.Participating Voices:
