This audio walking tour takes you down the picturesque cobblestone streets of New York City’s West Village. The West Village is a subsection of the Greenwich Village neighborhood traditionally bound by the Hudson River, West 14th Street, Greenwich Avenue and Houston Street. The neighborhood includes many historical townhouses and small streets.
This tour will take you to the most visited New York City attraction—the High Line from Gansevoort Street to 34th Street, and many other lesser known spots. You will also see architect Renzo Piano’s Whitney Museum of American Art. The route winds through some of the West Village’s most famous streets such as Bank Street and Christopher Street. Hear about the iconic Village Vanguard and its many famous performers, and the Stonewall National Monument and Stonewall Inn.
Take a stop at Washington Square Park to learn the history of the Washington Square Arch, and maybe play a game of chess with the locals while you are there!
