This audio driving tour follows the same route as Jackson Hole’s earliest travelers from Native Americans 9,000 years ago to early explorers and mountain men. It was also used by the valley’s homesteaders and recreationalists who ski and hike in this mountainous terrain today.
Here stories about all of these past and present travels as you drive US Highway 22 from Jackson, Wyoming to Victor, Idaho over Teton Pass.
On the tour you will see and learn about the distinctly different geologic formations spanning millions of years that collide on Teton Pass. In the road cuts, you can see evidence of the Teton Glacier. Hear more about the many species of Wyoming wildlife that inhabit the forests and open meadows along this route from the grizzly bear to the cute pica.
Discover how this uniquely wild place has remained open. Learn about the public lands such as Grand Teton National Forest and Grand Teton National Park. Also, find out how many ranchers have chosen to keep their ranches forever protected through the Jackson Hole Land Trust.
Local actor, playwright and entertainer Bob Berky animates the stories. Tune in for the fun-filled Kids channel, which entertains kids and their families with great stories, quizzes and mysteries of the passing landscape.
Anne and Pete Sibley generously donated use of their music to accompany the wonderful stories along this route.

By working cooperatively with the owners of the area’s privately owned open lands, the JHLT has ensured the permanent protection through conservation easements of over 25,000 acres in and around Jackson Hole and the Greater Yellowstone Area.
