This tour allows you to explore Nyack through the eyes of Edward Hopper, the iconic American painter who made his home here. You will see many of the buildings and vistas that inspired Hopper throughout his career as a painter and printmaker.

You will recognize some of the stops on this tour if you are familiar with the artist's work in American realism. It takes you by the private residence Pretty Penny where you will hear about the home's many famous owners and guests, and local store fronts that inspired Hopper’s later urban paintings.

Along the walking route there are views of Hook Mountain, where the Hopper family often picnicked, and vistas of the Mario M. Cuomo Bridge.

There is much more to find out about Edward Hopper inside the Edward Hopper House Museum and Study Center. Make sure you check out their website and stop by to learn more at the start or finish of this walking tour.
