Let Kiawah Conservancy be your guide on this audio tour of the Eastern end of Kiawah Island. Get local insights on interesting landmarks and key spots for birds watching.

This audio tour is optimized for cycling, but if you would like to drive, we suggest stopping at each site to experience the stories fully. Free parking is available just past the intersection of Governor's Drive and Flyway Drive, near the fire station.

Kiawah Island is about 25 miles southwest of Charleston, South Carolina. It is nestled between Folly Beach and James Island to the northeast, and Seabrook Island, Wadmalaw Island, and Rockville to the southwest.

Kiawah Island is a remarkable place where native landscapes, wildlife, and people coexist for the benefit of all – a place where beautiful memories are made. Many people know Kiawah Island for its private beach, golf resort, and views of the Atlantic Ocean. But, whether you are a golf or wildlife enthusiast or both, memories are built on the natural wonders here.

The tour features the Ibis Pond Overlock with the views of the world-famous Ocean Course golf course and tidal marsh with wildlife. Learn how the scenery changes based on the tides and where you can catch crab year-round. Then, bike along Ocean Course Drive and see some of the island's most picturesque homes along with one of the Kiawah Conservancy's preserved properties.

The tour also stops at Willet Pond, Bass Creek Dock, Willet Island, Hummock Island, and Ocean Course Clubhouse. Along the route, learn how many animals utilize the salt marsh and golf course as parts of their habitat.
