Do you hear that? Could a beaver live nearby? Look at the tree stumps. Do you see two big gouges from two big front teeth? If you do, a beaver might have chewed that tree! Beaver paws are like raccoon paws, with five front-facing toes and claws. Their back paws leave much larger tracks. Beavers use their large, webbed hind feet like flippers to swim. They also have a muscular tail to push them through the water. When they walk on land, you might see marks where they dragged their heavy tail behind them. Aren’t you glad you don’t have to carry your tail everywhere you walk?
